How does the face reading work?
Your photo is sent to an AI model trained on Taylor Northcutt's classical physiognomy methodology. The AI analyzes facial features including face shape, zones, symmetry, and proportions to generate a detailed character reading. The analysis typically takes 10-30 seconds.
Is my photo stored anywhere?
No. Your photo is transmitted to our AI service for analysis, then stored only on your device. Our proxy server is stateless and does not retain images. We have no server-side database of user photos or readings.
What does Physiognomy Premium include?
Physiognomy Premium is a weekly auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited readings across every method: face rating, Chinese face reading, archetype and temperament, career and social persona, and relationship style, plus saved readings, comparisons, and share cards. New subscribers start with a free trial.
Do I need an account or payment?
No account or email login is required. Physiognomy Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple Account, and new subscribers start with a free trial. Download the app, subscribe, take or upload a photo, choose a method, and read the result.
Can I move readings to a new device?
Readings are stored locally on your device. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, take or upload the photo again to create a new reading.
The reading says no face was detected. What should I do?
Make sure the face is well-lit, facing forward, and takes up most of the frame. Avoid heavy shadows, extreme angles, or sunglasses. A clear, neutral expression works best.
Can I read someone else's face?
Yes. Use the rear camera or select a photo from your library. The reading works on any face, not just selfies. Name the reading after the subject so you can find it in your history.
How do I delete my readings?
In the History tab, swipe left on any reading to reveal the delete option. To delete all readings, delete and reinstall the app.
Does Physiognomy charge anything?
Physiognomy Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. New subscribers start with a free trial, then it renews weekly until cancelled. All billing is handled by Apple; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. For a billing issue, contact Apple Support.
What iOS version is required?
Physiognomy requires iOS 26 or later on iPhone. It is not available for iPad or Mac.
